The “Work the USA” program is offered in partnership with our U.S program sponsor. As an appointed program sponsor they have the final say with regards to your application and sponsorship to come to the United States on a cultural exchange program. In addition, the program sponsor acts as your back up support structure while in the United States and are available to you if the need ever arises.
Working in the United States as a Student…
The “ Work the USA” program provides a challenging work and cultural experience in the U.S. to South African full time students during their holidays. As a full time student you are eligible to work in the United States for the length of your end of year university holidays or a maximum of 4 months. South African participants are able to work in a wide variety of jobs around the U.S. After students finish their work commitment, the program allows and encourages program participants to have an optional travel period to see the United States first hand.
Who can apply?
- Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 28.
- A current full time student at any registered tertiary institute studying a degree or Higher National Diploma.
- Students who are graduating at the end of 2010 may participate but must be able to show strong ties back to South Africa e.g. an offer of employment upon return or intention to take up additional studies.
