Flights

For most young South Africans the price of the flight has been the stumbling block for getting to camp. We have made it more accessible for young people to participate on the program by negotiating with camp directors to put up half the flight money required to get you to New York City.

Flight prices are as follows:

Regular Program : approximately R5500 (depending on airport taxes and exchange rate at the time).

Self Arranged : responsible for own flight payments.

“Summer Camp USA” participants are required to have a return air-ticket booked through Awesome Travel whether you go on the full placement or self arranged package.

Now should you take the full placement you have the option of your employee paying a 50% portion of your flight? If you go on the self arranged option (compulsory for third time returnees) you are liable for your own air-ticket.

Outward flights are generally out of Johannesburg however we can offer an add-on on if it's more convenient, generally departing May/June. Flight costs will vary from year to year and depend on availability.
