Host families are carefully screened and interviewed and are aware of the benefits of participating in a cultural exchange experience. By participating in their host family's life, Au Pairs can gain valuable insight into the American culture while improving their English language skills.

- Au Pair Social Events
Au Pairs attend monthly meetings organized by local coordinators. Meetings can be informational, cultural or educational in nature, and is a great way to meet other Au Pairs. Meetings can include holiday parties, museum trips, concerts, sporting events, volunteer projects, travel opportunities, charity walks or guest speakers.

- Orientation and Training Program in New York City
Au Pairs participate in a 4 day Orientation and Training Program in New York City prior to travelling to their host families. In addition to seminars on child development and child health and safety issues, Au Pairs will learn about life in the United States and how to adjust to a new culture. The rules and regulations of the J-1 visa and the health insurance program are explained and there is also time to explore the city.

- Spending Money, Free Room and Board, Paid Vacation and Time Off
Au Pairs are provided with a weekly stipend of $195.75 per week for 51 weeks, a private room, meals, an educational allowance, two weeks' paid vacation, one and a half days off per week and at least one complete weekend off each month during the year.

- Educational Allowance for Classes
Au Pairs enroll in classes, taking the equivalent of six credit hours for the year. The program includes a $500 per year credit to use toward the Educational Component of the program.

- Optional Month to Travel Within the United States
After successfully completing the program, Au Pairs may travel throughout the United States for one month before returning home.
