Once you have collected all your documents you will need to contact Awesome Travel so we can arrange to get the documents from you. Once we have processed your application, we will contact you to make arrangements for an interview at our office. At the interview you will complete a personality profile.
Once you have been accepted on to the program, your documents will be forwarded to our US partner InterExchange for processing. You application will be reviewed and sent to one family at a time.
Host families will call you so that you can get to know one another. Once you have agreed to match with a host family, our US sponsor will send us your visa documentation, flight details and pre-departure information. Awesome Placements will assist with booking your visa appointment at the U.S Consulate for your personal interview as well as booking and confirming all of your final flight and travel arrangements.
Spending money :
When arriving in the U.S. participants are required to have a minimum of $400 which may need to be produced for the U.S Immigration Officer upon arrival in the U.S. This spending money is necessary to cover travel expenses to your work site and any other expenses before your first salary payment.
Insurance U.S Government regulations require appropriate medical and travel insurance for participants on the “ Au Pair USA” program. This policy is offered by our US partner InterExchange and is designed to meet U.S government requirements. Please note that this is travel insurance and not a “medical aid” . It will cover you for hospitalization; emergencies and flying you home in the event of unforeseen crises.
