Au Pair USA is a twelve-month program that offers young adults between the ages of 18 & 26 the opportunity to learn more about America through living with an American family and providing child care for their children. In return for their services, Au Pairs receive room and board as well as a weekly stipend, accident and sickness insurance and a free international airfare from their country. Au Pairs also take classes at local educational institutions.

The Au Pair USA program offers a unique opportunity for cross cultural exchange and affordable legal child care simultaneously. It can have long term benefits for parents and their children, and for an Au Pair, through extended exposure to another culture and language.

What is an Au Pair?
An Au Pair is a caring live-in childcare provider between the ages of 18 and 26 who lives as an extended member of a host family in exchange for room, board and a small stipend. Au Pair means “on par” or “equal” and Au Pairs interact like an extended member of the family.

What do Au Pairs do?
Au Pairs care for the host children up to 10 hours per day and a maximum of 45 hours per week. Depending on the needs of the host family, an Au Pair might provide in-home child care for infants and toddlers while parents work, he/she could take responsibility for getting older children to and from school and after-school activities, or he/she can provide an extra set of hands for the busy at-home parent.
