How do I open a bank account?
Simply visit the local bank in the town in which you are working and take with you your passport, job offer and DS-2019.

How much money should I take along?

We recommend that you take minimum $400 in which to pay for food and housing for the first 2 weeks and some money to travel to your employer.

Do I have to attend the orientations?
It is a pre-requisite that you attend a pre-departure and arrival orientation on the full placement option. Failing to do so may result in your dismissal from the programme and being deported back to South Africa.

What if I don't like my job?
If you are unhappy with your job, first speak to your employer. Should you remain unhappy, contact either our US partner or local support officer. They are your back-up support in country and will assist you with any problems.

What if I change my mind and decide not to fulfil my employment contract?
There will be cancellation charges less administrative fees, if your placement has not been secured. Should your placement have been secured, you will be liable for the full programme fee.
